Step by step

1. BookBy phone, online. Online booking (Japanese)
   ☎ 03-6747-5111 (Mon–Sat 8:00 AM–7:00 PM (closed year-end/New Year))
2. PayBuy a paid oversized-waste ticket (粗大ごみ処理券) — Ticket A (¥200) or Ticket B (¥300) — and attach it to the item. Electronic payment is planned to become available from October 2026 (Reiwa 8)
3. Put it outWith advance reservation, you can bring eligible items yourself to a household-appliance drop-off counter (Kankyo Fureai-kan Himawari, or the Taito Cleaning Office Kitaueno Branch) for half the fee. Up to 5 items per visit, up to 3 times a year

Not accepted as oversized garbage

• Air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators/freezers, washing machines/dryers (covered by the Home Appliance Recycling Law)
• Computers (covered by manufacturer take-back/recycling programs)
• Cars, motorcycles, tires
• Pianos
• Fireproof safes
• Hazardous materials such as gasoline, kerosene, paint, thinner, as well as fire extinguishers and dry-cell batteries
• Soil, stones, gypsum board, concrete blocks
• Medical needles (return to a registered pharmacy)

Support and fee waivers

• Households of only people aged 65+, or people with disabilities who have difficulty carrying items out, can consult the Taito Cleaning Office
